1 of 1 art pieces, with the ownership, data and the marketplace functionalities entirely stored on the Ethereum blockchain. Each piece of art exists as a self-executing program, known as smart contract, makes its ownership purchasable directly within the contract itself.

The art pieces are being revealed gradually over time serving iterations in the ongoing artistic journey of Han with the evolution of 3D on-chain graphics and smart contract functionality. These art pieces born from code, and as the code evolves, so too will the art.

Immutable Art Pieces: Each piece of art is a unique creative expression by Han and the script of each art piece is embedded in the smart contract source code, immutable and completely on-chain.

Art Piece = Smart Contract = Marketplace: Every art piece resides in its own distinct smart contract and has built-in functions for ownership acquisition, eliminating the need for external marketplaces.

Royalty Approach: Every piece of art exists as its own market, allowing us to integrate a royalty system that is not subject to modification. The terms of royalties are set at the time of contract creation, granting integrated autonomy, free from any external influence.

Every art piece is crafted for smart contract ownership on the Ethereum Blockchain with their internal market mechanisms. Acquisition of these individual art pieces are facilitated solely by the built-in purchasing functions within their corresponding smart contracts without depending any external marketplaces.

Initially, the pieces are auctioned upon release, and anyone with an Ethereum Wallet can purchase it by connecting to the art piece. Art pieces previously auctioned by Han must be purchased from someone via their internal marketplace. Functions within each art piece, allow buying, bidding, and listing for sale. Further explanations can be found in info.

What is this?

It is the foundation of one-of-a-kind art pieces crafted using real-time shaders (GLSL), primarily featuring Han's explorations and expressions unveiled over time. Each art piece is represented by its dedicated smart contract which contains both the art piece and internal market mechanisms. Market data of the art pieces can be viewed here.

What is this exactly?

Typically, non-fungible tokens, known as ERC721 or ERC1155 standards are being used to authenticate digital assets and need third party marketplaces to be traded. There are several marketplaces that facilitate buying, selling, and bidding of these digital assets where you have to give permission for your tokens to be sold within their platform.

We’ve written code for each art piece to exist on the blockchain as an individual smart contract. Once this contract, containing the art piece, is deployed on to blockchain, built-in functions facilitate global buying and selling of the ownership. Fascinatingly, the moment it's anchored to the blockchain, our control over the code ends entirely. Such permanence might be a bit unsettling because of the potential glitches. However, this immutability stands as a testament to the system's integrity and art piece’s immutability. It becomes resistant to any changes - an immutable art piece in its truest form.

Art on Blockchain

In this approach, it is important to note that, no one has control over the code that is generating the art piece, the smart contract, the ownership and the purchasing functions after each of them is deployed on Ethereum blockchain. This is a crucial difference from digital assets that are stored in external storages or sold by an artist or gallery in traditional world. It guarantees the ownership, provenance, and immutability of these unique art pieces, independent of any central authority or financial systems.

Every art piece stands as a unique smart contract. The art piece scripts are highly optimized JavaScript codes of real-time GLSL shaders, wrapped inside smart contract source code eliminating the need for external storages. These smart contracts come with built-in function that facilitates global buying, selling and bidding permissionlessly.

This results in platform-independent and self-sustained art piece that lives in a virtual supercomputer—EVM—equipped with its own inherent market functions.

How do I acquire one of the art pieces?

Step 1: Installing MetaMask

MetaMask serves as your digital gateway to the Ethereum blockchain. To get started:

  • Visit the MetaMask website.
  • Download and install the browser extension suitable for your browser (Chrome, Firefox, Brave, or Edge).

Step 2: Acquiring Ethereum

For new accounts, you'll need to purchase Ethereum:

  • Open the MetaMask extension.
  • Click on the option to buy Ether, typically facilitated through Coinbase.

Step 3: Connecting to the Art Piece

You can connect your Metamask Wallet to the art pieces:

  • Once you connect your wallet to the desired art piece, this website will recognize it and add buttons to place a bid, buy or sell.
A word of caution:Always double-check transaction details. Safeguard your MetaMask credentials, including your password and recovery phrase. For enhanced security, consider investing in a hardware wallet (Ledger, Trezor etc.) Enjoy your art collecting journey!

How do I verify that my art piece is in ethereum blockchain?

If you examine any art piece’s smart contract on the blockchain, you will see the data contains the full output of the script, hence the artwork itself, and the purchasable functions.

Where are the images for the art pieces stored?

The actual script of visuals is embedded it into smart contract source code. You can verify that the art pieces being managed by the smart contract are the actual art pieces by querying the artpiece() function and paste the output into a modern browser. For example this piece can be shown to a digital screen by following the written instructions.

Are the art pieces a Smart Contract?

Yes. Each piece exists as its own smart contract that means it does not comply with any ERC standards.

Where does the market data on this site come from?

All of the information you see on this site are loaded from Ethereum blockchain. We have no control or access to any additional data beyond what the blockchain provides. In fact, you can also use Etherscan without needing this website to interact with the art pieces.

Do you charge any royalties or fees for transactions?

No. We charge no fees or royalties for the Han’s art pieces transacted through the built-in purchasable functions. There will be only fees charged by Ethereum (gas) in transactions.

We've also integrated a royalty system that is not subject to modification by anyone because it is inside the smart contract. The terms of royalties are set at the time of contract creation, ensuring that artists are fairly compensated every time the art piece changes hands, free from any external influence. Anyone can use it.

Is this is a collection, what is the quantity?

No, each art piece is a 1 of 1 smart contract and each of them will be released gradually with auctions in the long term.

There is no definite answer for the quantity but it is not open-ended as well. As a rough calculation, let’s assume I create two art piece a month, which means 24 art pieces a year and let’s assume that I have 30 years. The amount will still not be that high. After all this, the art pieces will outlive me.

What can be the use cases?

The ultimate aim for these on-chain art pieces is to achieve a longevity that outlives their creators. Living in Ethereum blockchain and governed by immutable smart contracts, these pieces are designed to exist as long as Ethereum blockchain exists. Through this endeavor, we are testing the limits of what smart contracts and 3D on-chain graphics can achieve in preserving the integrity and longevity of creative works.

In this approach, every art piece can be directly purchased inside their individual smart contract, creating a way for integrated royalties. This approach grants more autonomy to the royalties. Although the wrapper contracts and OTC deals still needs to be solved.

Each smart contract's purchasability functions can be integrated across various categories of the Ethereum ecosystem, from DeFi to other domains. Essentially, this approach could be a framework for monetizing self-sustained smart contracts on the Ethereum blockchain, potentially leading to a standard where each automated contract has its own purchase() function.
